Wesleyan Picnic.

The animal picnic in connection with the Wesleyan Sunday School was held on the Oval yesterday. A large number of young folks, as well as older ones, assembled together about 2 o'clock, and a most enjoyable time — in the usual games — was spent. Cricket and football were indulged in by the more boisterous youths. About tea-time a few hymns were sung, accompanied by several members of the Feeding Band, under the leadership of Mr Haybittle ; and, afterwards, the games were continued until dark, when the party broke np, thoroughly satisfied with the pleasant afternoon. Iv the evening the seniors held a social in Short's Hall as a windup to the day's amusements, when there was a fair attendance. Various songs, recitations, and games were indulged in, and refreshments were handed round. Altogether a pleasant day's amusement was spent.
