Queensland Relief Fund Concert.

The above concert took place last night before a rather small but demonstrative audience. The Mayor briefly opened the programme in a short speech, and then called upon Mr J. F. Stevens, who sang "In Port " capitally. Miss E. Bellve then gave " Love's golden dream," which was well gnn« and loudly applauded. Mr L. E. Reade was next well received for bis rendering of "Anchored." Miss Hastie'a song, " Dear heart," was splendidly sung, as was her song in the second part, entitled "Alice, where art thou ? " in both of these items she scored a decided and well merited success. Mr Bastings recited " TeJPs address to the mountains " with excellent effect and a fine dramatic vigor. Mr Smith's comic song was properly appreciated. Mr Keen's songs were well received, and met with encores. The duet, "Army and Navy," by Messrs lteade and Stevens was well sung. " Ora pro nobis " was rendered by Miss Bellve with her accustomed power. •• The bonnie wee window," sung by Mr Turner, was excellently rendered. A selection by the Haybittle family was very well played, and Mr Reade was heard to great advantage in " Come iuto the garden Maud." The selections by the bcass band, before the commencement of the programme, were well played, and much appreciated. We were sorry the audience was not larger, more especially as the object was such a laudible one ; however, the funds will benefit to the extent of about £9. A considerable share of the work fell to Miss Bellve, who played all the accompaniments in her well known pleasing manner.
