Social at Apiti
IFBOM OTJB OWN COHBEBPONDENT. j A Very successful social was held at Apih on Friday evening last. This district is growing rapidly, a good many new settlers having come into the " Block " during the past three months. Mr Clapham occupied the chair, and gave a neat little speech at the opening of the meeting. The programme consisted of songs, speeches, recitations, and musical pieces given by the following ladies and gentlemen. Song?, Messrs Birks, Tolly, Clapham. and Curtis, and Mesdames Guy, and Bunckman, and Misses- Buckman and Garti«.^Th«^taTs< Mr Birks gave a short address in which he spoke of the progress of the'.distnct?
