Messrs Gorton and Son report that they held the largest sheop sale which has ever been held at Feildujß last Friday Over 14,000 sheep came forward, and thanks to the courtesy allowed of using the Alliance yards as well aa our own, the sale was got through with ease, and delivery of sheep quickly given. A few lots were passed in, not realising the reserves, but by far the largest number were sold, tho purcbasors being GO in number. We had uior© rams than wore advertised and sold nearly all. Tho prices were on tho whole fatrly good, be ing hotter than of late, but still not equal to what they wore a few weeks ago. Our quotations are : — Sheep.— Wethers, 9s 4d to 10s 9-1 ; Mr Wheeler's 2- tooth Rotnuey owes, 16a; f.m., 13s6d; Mr Jacob's Eomnoy owe?, mixed ages, 12s; Mr Pharazyn's 2-th Rouiney ewes, 12s 6d ; 2 th ewes, Us 7d to 13s 6d ; breeding ewes, various pricos, from .is to Us 2d ; fat ewe*, 103 81; lambs, various prices, from 3s Id to Gs. Bams.— Eobt, Wilson, 2£gs, W. Moirison, from U^'s to 2]gs ; J. G. Wilson averaged £1 Is; the late W. T. Watt, from 2^3 to 3gs ; Mrs Bryce, l^-ffs to 2£ga; D Blair, ljfcs to 2£gs; G. V. Shaunon, lfjjs to 7rs ; S. liellvc. l^ge to l£gs; Komuey rams by G. Wheolor, ogs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co.'s JohnBonville stock report :— Fat cattle came forward ro average supply.
