Wanganui Education Board

The usual monthly meeting of tlie Education Board commenced last night Present— Messrs Carson (Chairman), Sansou, Bndce, Baker, Frj t JNfotinan, Hurley, Beckelt. and the liev J, Boss. The Board tben went in Committee to consider appointments and other business, and on resuming reported as follows : BenconsGeld. — Tbo yacanoy at this school n-as referred to the Executive. Colyton. — To fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr Mitford Tayler it was resolved to advertise in the Wellington and Wanganui papers. Birmingham — The resignation of Miss E. K. Lowe, as teacher, was accepted. The vacancy to be advertised. It was resolved to forward extra desks from the Central Sohool, Palmerston, Snndon.— Letter from Committee ask* ing that Mr Audrew'ft name (Karere) be included in those forwarded. It was resolved, " That the Board regret that they cannot see their wax to depart trom their previous decision." College street (Palmer»ton)i— For the permanent staffing of this school it was resolved to appoint Miss E. Watts, of Bunnythorpe, pupil teacher, Mr Barrett, of Wanganui Boys, junior assistant. For the position of second assistant mis tress (salary L9O per year and bonus) it was decided to forward the names of Miss Davis, Manaia ; Miss Thompson, Bulls ; and Miss McDonald, Palmerston. And for the position of third assistant mistress, at L7O a year and bonus, the names of Miss McMean, Miss Meads, and Miss Warne. Bunnythorpe. — The names of snch teachers as returned from Colleße-street, to whom it will be promotion, to be sent on for the vacancy at this school. The meeting then adjourned.
