Sherwiil. -md the ftttcrnoon and evening services by iiie Rev A. Hermon. The morning and evening services, when the harvest thanksgiving wa9 held, were very hearty. The music was excellent and the staging of tho Doxologv after the last hymn in the evening seemed a til ending to the bright and hearty services of the duy. A large congregation also mot in tho afternoon for tho children^' flower services. The sor<« vice consisted for tho urnst part of hymns and a sermon by the !Rov A. llermon from Genesis c 2. v 8., appropriate to the occasion, after which tho bouquets of flowers, some of which had texts attached, wero disposed of by the children in a basket near the font. Many of tho bouquets of ftowors wero carefully avid beautifully arranged u«d betokened tbo enro taken upon them, aud the interest the children and their parents felt in the service There was a large congregation present, but many people liying at a distance did not attend owing to the threat ening appearance of tho weather. About 3 or 4 cwt of fruit, vegotables, and a box of flowors were forwarded by tho early train yesterday morning to tho Wanganui Hospital and amongst them a sugar bag full of apples from an nnonyraous donor, found by the Key A. Hermon inside the parsonage gate on his return from Church on Sunday evening.
