Feilding State School

« The annual picnic for the children at- ! tending the above school was held yesterday. On account of the boisterous state of the weather, it was decided to bold the affair in tho school grounds. Several members of the committee were present, together with the teaching staff, and everything was done to make the affair a success, tho scholars mustering in full force. Cricket, football, foot racing, and other games caused tlie afternoon to pass too quickly, and when teams were formed for a tug-of-war the members of tho committee and staff, carried off by the excitement | ofthe moment, laying aside their dignity, pulled away as if their lives depended on the result. The afternoon's amusement wound up about 5 o'clock after a most pleasant day's amusement.
