Messrs Gorton and Son's sale was a success yesterday. The attendance of buyers was very large, over 14,000 sheep were yarded, and more than 200 rams catalogued, nearly every line being cleared. Quotations will appear in our next issue. Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co. report : —Cattle— At Waverley— Cows L3 3s to L 4 15s ; steers, L3 3s ; yearlings, L 25s ; weaners 355, Sheep. — At Waverley — Fat ewes, 10s to lis 2d ; others, 8s 3d and lis 4d ; lambs, 5s and 7s 5d ; culls, 2s 6d and 4s ; wethers. 9s lOd to 10s. At Wanganui -2 tooth ewes, 10s 6d, 12s 2d, up to 14s ; other ewes, 7s 9d and 9s 4d ; wellbred ewes, lis 9d and 12s 6d ; store wethers, 10s 6d ; fat wethers, 12s 7d ; fat ewes, lis 4d ; lambs, 6s Id and 6s 8d ; culls, 2s Id and 4s, The United Farmers* Alliance report on their Palmerston sale last Thursday as follows :— Cattle. — Store bullocks , L 5 6s ; 2*year steers, L4ls ; cows, L3 8s ; springing heifer*. L 4 10s ; jearling steers, L 2 Bs. Sheey. — Full*mouth ewes, 5s 3d to 8s 4d ; 2-tooth ewes, 12s ; wethers, 10s 2d ; mixed woolly lambs, 6s to 6s 2d ; cull do., Is lis ; shorn mixed lambs, 5s Id.
