Gorton and Son report as follows : Large entries of sheep and moderate of cattle came forward at our San son sale on 31st January, which was not so well attended as usual, on account of the harvest operations. The bidding was not so brisk as it generally is. We sold most of the cattle and a good many pens of sheep. The horse sale at Feilding was well attended, and we sold 58, and, for the class entered, at good prices. Our quotations are : — Sandon. — Cattle — Forward cows, £4 7s 6d to J-4 12s ; 2 to 2£.yr heifers, £8 18s 6d ; 3-yr steers, £4 2s 6d ; weaners and yearlings (mixed), 83h. Sheep — Store wethers, lls; shorn lambs, 5s lOd; woolly lambs, 6s 6d to 7s ; owes, 5s lid to 7s. Feilding. — Horses brought various prices, from £1 to £8 ss.
