To-day Mr Carthew has a replace advertisement in detailing several of the new books and publications he received by last direct steamer from Londou. On Monday last a young lady lost a gold brooch. Tho finder will be liberally rewarded on bringing it to the Fbildinq Star office. A watch, with pendants, found on Sunday tho 22nd instant, has been left at this office. The loser can. have same on giving satisfactory proof of ownership a,nd paying cost of advertisement. An advertisement from the New Zealand Loaq and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, appears over leader to-day, to which we direct tho attention of such of our readers as are engaged in agricultural or pastoral pursuits, Everyone will remembor the Melbourne " Boom."
