j Messrs Gorton and Son report as follows :— We held two stock sales this week, at Marton and Feildmg, good entries came forward at Marton and exceptionally large at Feilding so much so we ; had to accept the courtesy of the alliance to enable us to yard all the stock. Cattle sold well at Marton we had more entries, and eyery bead was sold, sheep were dull but we managed to quit a few pens. At Feilding the bidding for cattle was very brisk and we sold nearly all the lines under the hammer. Sheep were also dull of sale there, but. several pens were disposed of. We quote : — Cattle. — Marton: Fat and forward bullocks, small, £5 17s 6d ; fat cows, £5 ; heifers, £3 10s ; 2-year steers, £3 7s 9d ; cows. £3 12s 6d to £4 la 6d; year to 18---month steers, £2 6s 6d to £2 Us. Feilding : Fat cows, £5 to £5 Is ; forward cows, £4 08 to £4 17s 9d ; breeding cows, £4 2s ; cows and calves, £5 6s 6d to £4 8s ; year and 10-month calves, £2 5s to £2 Us ; 2£ year steers, £4 19s ; 1-year steers, £2 da; mixed weanera, 36s to £2 os ; milkers. £5 to £o'7s. Sheep.— Marton : Fat wethers, 12s 7d ; forward mixed sheep, 8s ; f ull^mouth ewes, 6s lOd. , ' Feilding: 2-tooth Bomney ewes, 12s 6d; ewes, 12s 9d; forward" wethers, Us 4d ; store wethers, various prices from 9s lid to 10s lid; lambs- various prices from os 7d to 8s Id ; ewes and lambs, all counted, 58 to 5s 9d; full-mouth ewes, 6s 6d to 7s BcL^_^^^ >
