« Messrs Gorton and Son's sale at Feilding was exceptionally well attended yesterday afternoon. Cattle sold remarkably well, and sheep fetched vorj fair prices, considering the large uumber yarded. Quotations will appear in our nest issue. Messrs Lowes and Irons' report on ! their stock sale at Masterton as follows : — At Wednesday's sale there was a good entry of sheep, and a number of uncata logued entries were yarded, and sold well. The sale was conducted in a heavy downpour of rain. The bidding for store sheep was decidedly slack ; a good cumber of lines were passed in, bat-every-thing was sold privately except two small lots, the vendors agreeing to a slight reduction of the reserves. Wethers sold at from 10s 3d to lls 6d for light mutton ; merino wether mutton, 8s ; mixed ewes and wethers, 10s Id to 10s 9d ; lambs, from 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; shorn lambs, 6s sd ; breeding ewes, from 6s 6d to 8s for superior fresh full- mouth ; plain fat cows, up to £o 128 9d : milk cows, £4 Ids to £5 10s; 2-year steers, 70s; store cows, 60s ; weaners, 24s to 31 s. Pigs — Weaners, good sorts, 9s ; sows, 255. There was a large attendance, and con- | siderable interest manifested throughout the sale ; buyers were disinclined to speculate.
