Wool Sales
(I'EU PUKSS ASSOCIATION.) Sydney, January 12. A large selection of wool is being offered, and owing to a number ot new buyers putting in an appearance, and the additional competition thereby induced, prices are firm, ranging from par to a farthing above last month's closing rates. German buyers are operating vigorously. The following are the rates ruling :- - Greasy fleece — Good, 7Jd to Bsd ; superior, 9d to lid. Lambs— Good, 6{.d to 7£d ; superior, 8d to 9Jd. Crossbred — Good, 8d qo Bi] d ; superior, 9d to 9fd. Scoured fleece — Good, Is l^d to Is 2£d ; superior, Is 3d to Is s^d. Washed— Goo d, lOd to 10^1 ; superior, lid to 12^d. Mklboubne, January 12. There is a strong demand for wool, and the operations of German buyers are a feature of the auctions. Prices are firm at a slight increase.
