Pohangina Small Farm Association No. 2

[from oub own correspondent.] A meeting of the Pohangina Small Farm Association No. 2 (Wanganui Harbour Board Block) was held in the Colyton Public Hall on 7th January. Present — Messrs Lucas (chairman), Jefferies, Hughie, Lankshear, Bullock, Alexander, Stanton, Vile and F. Whibley (secretary). The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the Secretary ofthe Wanganui Harbor Board touching the covenant that is being prepared for signature by members of the association, and on the proposition of Mr Bullock, the chairman was authorised to interview the Commissioner of Lands in connection therewith. Transfers were asked for, and on the motion ofthe chairman it was resolved that they be granted. The principal object of the meeting was to open tenders for surveying new lines and putting in back pegs to sections, and also for finding the original pegs, which cannot now be traced. Three tenders were received. Considerable dissatisfaction was expressed at the smsdl attendance considering the individual interest of each member in this work. Mr Lucas moved, and Mr Vile seconded, " That tbe tenders received be held over to a future meeting, so few members being present," which was carried. A hope was expressed that at next meeting all would attend or be represented. There is no committee of management in this association, consequently each of the 43 members is expected to express an opinion. The question of amalgamating the offices of chairman, secretary, and treasurer was brought forward, but relegated to the next meeting.
