Mr R. S. Abraham held a sale at Awa* huri on Tuesday, when there was a large attendance, the bidding being brisk. Two hundred and fifty head of cattle and 4,000 sheep were yarded. The following are the prices :— 3-year steers, £4 to £4 10 ; cows in calf, £4 to £4 10s ; cows with calves at foot, £5 ; springing heifers, £4 to £4 15s ; fat bullocks, £6 18s to £1 ; fat cows, £5 to £6 ; milkers, £4 10s to £6 ; weaners, £2 to £2 ss ; yearlings, £2 10s to £3. Sheep— A splendid line of 2-tooth Lincolns, 3,000 in number, were sold to Messrs Pascal Bros, at lis 2d ; two tooth, mixed, 10s 6d to 21s ; ewes and lambs, all counted, 5s to 7s 6d ; fat ewes, 10 6d. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report on their Wanganui sale as follows : —Tbe market keeps very brisk for all descriptions ot stock, and the yards were well filled both at Waverley and Wanganui ; the bidding was good throughout, Cattle. — At Wayerley — Steers, L 35s to L 4; cows, L 4 3s 6d up to L 5 10s ; heifers, L 3; weaners, L 2. At St. Hill Street— Steers, L 4 14s 6d ts L 4 15s 6d ; cows and calves, L 5 7s 6d ; heifers, L 3 5s to L42s 6d ; mixed cattle, L 3 ss ; yearlings, L 2 17s 6d ; young steers, L 2 19s 6d to L 3 13s ; weaners, 395 ; young bulls, L 3 to L 4, Sheep. — At Waverley — Ewes and lambs, 16s 2d ; wethers in wool, 15s Id to 16s 9d ; shorn hoggets, 9s lOd At St. Hill Street -Fat ewes, lUs to 12s 6d ; wool ley hoggels, 13s 6d ; shorn wether hoggets, 10s : Pigs.— Baconers, 28s 6d to 30s ; porkers 17s to 325 ; stores, 10s to 13s ; small pigs 5s 6d.
