(pee pbess association.) London, December 10. Several consignments ot Victorian butter huve been overcharged with preservatives. Frezen mutton, ex Massilia, from Melbourne, is selling sluwly, but prices are unchanged. At the wool sales there is spirited competition, but prices are unchanged. Australian is quoted at 9d to 9§d December 11. The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 179,800 bales, of which 172,200 bales sold. Prices are firm. Greasy crosshreds are a £d dearer. The present series closes on the loth mst., and the next series begin on the 24th January, The New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London office, dated 9th December : — ' Frozen meat— Mutton market steady, quotations unchanged since last telegram. Tullow — There is a better demand for beef tallow, but other descriptions are uuohanged ; good beef is worth 25a 9d per cwt.'
