(PEB PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Syeney, December 8. The wool market has a weakening tendency. During the week, 34,000 bales were offered, of which 81,000 were sold. There was a strong demand by French and German buyers. The following are the current prices : — Greasy fleece, good, 7|d to B|d ; superior, 9d to lid ; lambs, good, 6£d to 7£d ; superior, 8d to 9Jd ; crossbreds, good, 8d to B|d ; superior, 9d to 9|d; scoured fleece, good, Is Id to Is 2f d ; superior, Is 3d to Is 5d ; washed, good, lOfd to lid; superior, lid to Is OH London, December 7. Wool continues firm, and competition is good, except for inferior sorts'. Imports into the United Kingdom have decreased five millions, and the exports a quarter of a million during November. December 8. Canterbury mutton, 4 l-16th of a penuy ; Wellington do, 3f a. Hemp dull. At auction to-day some fair Wellington was offered, but was bought in at £26. Butter dealers state that the red latter on the boxes run into the crayices when they get wet and spoil the contents. They also complain that the packing is often inferior, greased paper being used instead of vegetable parchment. At the wool sales prices for medium and inferior sorts are now in buyers' fayour, but good qualities remain very firm.
