Manchester Cricket Club

A general meeting of the members of the above Club was held at the Manchester Hotel last evening. Mr Wol* lerman presided. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Club contains a membership of 40 ordinary and 4 honorary members. The Secretary read a letter from Mr W. G. Haybittle declining the Presidency of the Club, as he was not a cricketer. Proposed by Mr Wollerman, seconded by Mr Burlace, That Mr Goodbehere be asked to accept the presidency of the Club. — Carried. A challenge from the .Carnarvon Club has been received, which has been accepted, the date to be fixed hereafter. A match has boen arranged with the Bulls Club, to be played at Bulls on Wednesday the 7th inst. Easolved, That a return match bo played with the Feilding Club, the game to come off on the 14th instant. It was arranged to hold meetings eyery fortnight, at the Manchester and Denbigh | Hotels alternately ; the next meeting to take place on the 17th instant at the Denbigh Hotel. Eesolved, That the Club's colours be Oxford and Cambridge blue, and that the Secretary be instructed to obtain quotations from the New Zealand Clothing Factory, for the price at which they can provide the requisite articles. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the proceedings.
