Sale of Harbour Board Sections

. — • •si [FROM OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] A meeting of the Wanganui Harbour Board Association was held at Colyton on Saturday last far (be purpose of drawing for sections. Mr G. B. Lucas took the chair, and confirmed the mm« uteß of the previous meeting after being passed. Mr Notraan, secretary of the Wanganui Harbor Board, attended at the request of the Association. It was in - tended that he should take charge of the first year's instalment, and pay it to the Wanganui Harbor Board, but on enquiry it was found that the Association must pay direct to the Receiver of Land Revenue. It was, therefore, proposed by Mr Richards, and seconded by Mr Lnnkshear. That the chairman, Mr C. Bray, and Mr E. Gobdbehere receive the money and place it in the bank this (Saturday) evening in Feilding and for ward it on to the Receiver of Land .Revenue. This was put to the meeting and carried, Mr Good beh ere to be treasurer. Mr Goodbehere asked the Secretary of the Wanganui Harbor Board whether the Association was to come under the Small Farm Regulations, the name "Pohangina Small Farm Association 'l_-bemg suggestive of that Mr Hotroan, in reply, said that the name of the Wanganui Harbour Board Associa° tibn was originally submitted by him in the draft of the Enabling Bill, but was altered to that of Fohangina Small Farm Association No. 2, because the other name might be interpreted to mean that the members of the Board were connected with the Association, and that with regard to terms the land was taken up under the deferred-payment rules, with the exception of the pajment of thirds, "k'yh CTr t T f A" was *be essence of the "Enabling BiIL-JOn the Secretary reading -oVßTine names, it was found that six of the original members were not present or represented. Mr Whibley said that three of those members who were absent had expressed their intention of going on with the land only a few days ago. Cowan : That anyone present wishing to take a section can have that of an absent member. — Pat to the meeting and carried. It was ppinted out that if any person acted without authority for absent member, ani aTlatr-sec 1 tion was drawn, difficulty might arise. The drawing took place in three divisions. Mr Notman presided at the billies, one of which contained tickets with names of members only written on them, the other tickets with number of sections and acreage. One ticket from each billy was drawn out simultaneously by Mr Notman and showed to the fortunate possessor of the name written thereon Six of those who had attended the meet ing on the chance of vacanoies occurring handed in their namea^nd were accepted by the Associations M. The poll for the loan No. 2 Ward, Pohangina Road *Board, was taken on Saturday at Adsett's Mill and carried.
