Mr Kitchen followed with a violin solo, which was given in his usual finished style. Miss Alice Gould sang • The Gates of the West ' | very sweetly. Mr Shearer brought down the house by his song, ' The Working Man.' The glee, • Hail Smiling Morn,' sung by Mrs Lyon, Misses Blackmore, Hamilton and Gould and Messrs Shearer and Attwood, brought the first part of the concert to a close. The second part included two anthems by the choir, a violin solo by Mr Kitchen, in which he was accompanied on the organ by Miss Ethel Hamilton, a song, ' The Soldiers Tear,' by Ethel Hamilton, which was very well received, a spirited recitation by Mr Gieson and songs by Mr Shearer and Mrs Lyon, The concert was .under the conduotorship of Mr Shearer, who ably acquitted himself.
