The Kanaka crew of the French vessel Constantino, recruiting in the New Hebrides, murdered the captain and mate and threw their bodies overboard. Afterwards the murderers looted the vessel and turned her adrift. This Day. Captain Staho, of the schooner Three Che9r9, was killed at Bismarck Arehipe* lego, while assisting the German Commissioners to arrest a native murderer. The whites continued the attack, and shot a number of natiyes including the King and his son, the latter being the man who murdered Staho. A disease believed to be the same which ravaged the Java cane crops some years ago, has broken out m the Clarence cane fields. New Zealand potatoes are selling at fancj prices, the market being almost bare. Quotations have advanced to L 4 10s and L 4 15 s per ton.
