The Red House

The Bed House has changed hands. It is announced elsewhsre that Mr S. J. Thompson, who has been so long the proprietor of this popular establishment, has relinquished it in favor of Messrs \Vm. Gruar & Co. The members of the new firm are Mr William Gruar, late of Wairio, near Invercargill, and Mr Henry, W. Davy, late of Kaponga, Taranaki. Both of these gentlemen have already been very successful in business, and we are confident that the exercise of the same qualities which have been followed by such gratifying results in their past individual careers will be continued in the new partnership. The business they have now purchased is well established, and the invitation so cordially given by Mr Thompson to his patrons to support the new firm will no doubt be readily acceded to. Messrs Gruar & Co., intimate that it is their intention to carry on there business on the same lines as those laid down by their predecessor, Mr Thompson. We wish Messrs Gruar & Co. every prosperity, and feel assured that they will never regret having cast their lot with us in this prosperous and rising district. We confess to a feeling of regret at the retirement of Mr Thompson from business in Feilding. By his strict integrity of character and invariable courtesy to everyone he has won the esteem and friendship of all in Feilding and the surrounding districts.
