EMPTY CASES.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAH. Siu, — Will you allow roe to protest against the habit of some of our tradesmen in leaving packing cases, furniture, etc., lying on the footpaths in front of their business premises. This favourite and fashionable mode of exhibiting the beauties of imported timber is, I believe, i prohibited by law, and why the owners are allowed to ignore the law is a problem which would puzzle a lightning calculator. The reason for my objection is so obvious that I will not say more than hope the authorities will look into the matter. I am, etc., Pedestrian.
