» Bulls, November 3. Messrs Gorton and Son report :— Large entries of cattle and sheep came forward at our Sandon sale yesterday the latter being of exceptionally good class. The attendance was good, and the bidding spirited. We had the pleasure of realising for an. excellent line of woolly wether hoggets, bred by Mr J, H. Speedy, 15s 2u. We cleared every pen of cattle excepting one, and all lines of sheep excepting two small peas. Our quotations are: — Cattle.— Fat mixed beef, £5 8s 6d ; forward and fat cows. £4 2s to £5 LOa 6d 2£« year steers. £3 7s to £3 los; 3»year heifers, springing, £4 13s to £5 9s ; milkers, L 5 to L<3 s6 6d ; 18-montns mixed cattle, L 2 13s ; yearlings mixed, 33s to L 2 4s. Sheep. — Hoggets, various prices from 10s 9d to 15s 2J ; ewes and lambs, various prices from 12s 7d to 14s 9d ; shorn fat ewes, 10s 3d U 11 s. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Cos. Palmerston stock report. — Cattle came forward in limited numbers and competition was brisk throughout, the yarious entries findipg purchasers at good rates. Yearlings heifers from dairy stock relatively sold best. Sheep were fairly numerous and met with, a ready sale and increased competition. All lots were cleared. We quote : — Sheep. — Fat shorn weathers, 10s lOd to lls 6d ; mixed hoggets, 11 s lOd to 13s 7d : ewes and lambs, 14s 8d to 15s 9d. Cattle. — Two and a half year steers, L 3 13s Qd ; fat bullocks (light weights), L 6 5s ; fat heifers, L 4 15s; milch cows, L 3 17s 6d to L6ss ; yearling heifers from dairy stock, L 2 Is to L 2 13s.
