The Wellington -branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the week ending Wednesday, October 26th, 1892, as follows :— Wool— ln this staple operations are in the interval between London sales yery quiet, and there is no present indication of the course of the market for the next series, which commences on the 24th pros. Local consignments are coming to hand in good quality. Sales, however, have not yet commenced, except of oddments, which do not call for comment. Frozen Meat— The following cablegram has been received from our London manager, dated 22adinst :— Mutton market firmer, and has advanced one-eighth of a penny per pound since last report. Canterbury mutton is worth 4±& per lb, and Wellington 4d per lb. New Zealand beef— Forequarters are worth 3|d and hindquarters 4|d per lb. Grain— There is no changeto report in the oat market. Sales have been made during the week at late rates, and we quote good, short feed 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; long oats, 2s l£d to 2s 2d ,* whole fowls' wheat is worth 2a 6d to 2s 7d ; maize, 3s Id to 3s 2d ; feed barley, 2g 6d to 2s 7d. Grass Seed— We quote southern machined seed at 4s to 4s 3d ; Poverty Bay rye grass, 6s to 6s 9d ; Pacey's imported, 4s; cocksfoot, 2|d to 3Jd per lb.
