. Parades for November and December are published to-day. The Manchester Rifles paraded on Thursday night when there was a good attendance and one man belonging to the Palmerston Rifles put in a parade. The men were drilled and exercised by Lieuts. Kirton and Bray, and Sergts. Milson, Bellve, Petherick, and Saywell. Corpl. Gould had charge of the squad of recruits. The corps was marched out on the Kitnbolton Road and drilled in company formations. They acquitted themselves very well. On returning** to the Hall, Lieut. Kirton, stated that Lieut. Col. Newall had been good enough to grant some extra parades so that members who had been unable to attend regularly during the winter months would now be able to make up for lost time. Of course this may seem a little hard on those who have attended all parades, but still as the interests of the corps demand that as much capitation money be earned as possible, so doubt the sacrifice will be cheerfully made. The parade was then dismissed. The shooting committee met at the Manchester Hotel later in the evening and a lot of useful work was gone through. ' Mr MoGee handed over his medal, and Mr Wollerman his silver cup for competition. It was resolved that the latter be the Champion Cup for the season. All matches will be concluded on the 24th of May 1893. ' Volunteer F. Y. Lethbridge was appointed handicapper for the several events. We have been requested to remind intending new members that they must be sworn in on or before the 31st instant, or they cannot be enlisted this year.
