He ! denied that he paid the prisoner's expenses during her recent travels This Day. The secretary of the Seaman's Union has been fined £10 and costs for persuading sailors to leave the steamer Gabo. Notice of appeal has been giyen. Mrs Parker has been acquitted on the charge of forgery. Sydney, This Day. A young man named Dixon shot his sweetheart (Miss Marcontelh) near Rosedale and then committed suicide. The girl is not expected to recover. Her parents had forbiddeu her to speak to Dixon, and she complied with their wish, which exasperated Dixon.
