A COMPLAINT.
[TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.] Sir,— l hear that some of the Borough Councillors have been inspecting the damage already done by stray cattle to the trees, lately planted in Manchester Square. No doubt their feelings warmed as they proceeded with their examination, and they have come to the conclusion that something must be done to stop feeding on tho Squares if not on the roads. Ido hope that in any decision come to, we in the outskirts of the Borough may not be left to take care of ourselves. The herds feeding on the roads are some of them of unusual dimensions, and the small boy in attendance only adds to the nuisance, for the cattle would moye on, but now they are kept for hours together at the same place damaging fences and young trees much to the annoyance of the occupiers of the land. We appear to have all the necessary pieces, or parts, of the Publio Machine in Feilding, but, as the song says, " There's something gone wrong with the works " as regards cattle, and roads, and owners. I am, etc., An Outsider.
