Dr Robertson, who attempted suicide by cv ting liis throat some time ago, was brought up at the R.M, Court this afternoon and discharged. Dunedin, October 10. MrH. S. Fish.M.H.R., was met on arrival of the train by a very large crowd. His friendi raised cheers, but these were soon drowned by a hostile demonstration and the crowd followed the drag, which was awaiting him, to the hotel, where there was further cheering and hooting, Mr Fish attempted to address the crowd from the window, but as over-ripe eggs commenced to fly about he retired. A Dargaville ccrresdondent reports that a woman Golbsbro, and four child* ren, were thrown into the Wairoa River by the canting of a log used as a bridge, and alt were drowned. The police haye recovered the five bodies, and brought then to Dargaville for an in quest. The husband is a gumdigger. and has three other children. He was in Dargaville selling gum when the fatality occurred.
