(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION). Sydney, Tins Day. The Labour Electoral League has carried a resolution that Messrs W. Sharp, F. D. Fitzgerald, A. J. Kelly, and J. Johnston, members of the Legislative Assembly, who were returned on the labour ticket, be regarded as traitors to the cause of labor in yoting against the vote of censure on the Government, moved by the leader of the Opposition. Hob art, October 5. The Budget shows an estimated decline of £75,000 on the Hon Jtf. S. Bird's Statement in July making a deficiency for the year of £124.000— a total deficit of £219 000. The new taxation will include an additional penny on beer, an increase of 100 per cent in stamp duties, and a dividend tax on banks. It is also pro* posed to effect a saying of £60,000 by retrenchment. The Governor's salary is to be fixed at £4000, and members, honorarium to be reduced to £75. This Day. A cabman named Newall, shot his wife dead and wounded a man who attempted to arrest him. Subsequently Newall committed suicide. The motive for the crime is attributed to domestic infelicity.
