Three Shows in One
.■ , — «•"— — — — ;- : A very successful entertainment under the above heading took place at the Feeding Assembly Booms ;Jast Saturday evening. The affair was, got up by several Feilding and Beaconsfield amateurs. The first part consisted of a number of tableaux viyahts, which were' excellently put on the stage, especially "Faitb,,Hope and Charity," and. the,; "Snow Queen," the posing being very , good and the colored light effects really admirable. The "Three Old Maids" .musical tableau was capitally rendered, and well deserved the enthusiastic encore which it received. The farce "My Turn Next" by several Beaconsfield amateurs followed. Mr Cor* nish played the part of. Taraxacum Twitters very well, and Mr and Mrs Buchanan as the domestics Taffy and Peggy acted capitally, and threw a lot of vigour into their acting, , Miss ,N. Beattie W Mrs Taraxacum Twitters played her. part well and she was ably assisted .by Miss Moss, as her. companion. Mr Clayton as Tom Trap* made the best of a small part. . One admirable feature with all the performers was that they spoke clearly and distinctly so as to \be audible in every ■' part of the hall; The interest was well sustained all through; : A nigger minstrel, business was the third item on jhepro> gramme. - There were, 17 ,ladies and gentlemen performers, with ths regulation black faces in this parV The choruses were well rendered and some of the items were capitally sung/ "The Rustic Bridge" l>y Mr Gdotie,."iOall me your Darling " by Mrs Coote, " The Steeple on the Hilir *y Mrs. Lundius, •• My Sunny Home " ;by, Mr D. Mildred, were all well sung and met with plenty of applause. Messrs Elkingfion and JLovejoy, the two corner men, Worked hud and with' great success, some of their jokes being- really funny and in their respective comic songs 11 Whistling Coon '• and "Chicken coop Door " well deserved the encores which their songs received-: The" audience was a large and appreciative operand the, performance far above ordinary amateur form. In, conclusion we hope to. see the ladies and gentlemen on the hoar ds again and trust they will proffer 1 their services should some object deserving of support at any time arise. — Mr Coote, the stage manager- and director, Mr Dyeri/Secretary, deserve the highest encomiums for the energy they displayed in bringing the affair to so successful an issue. ;
