Parliamentary

(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, September 26. In the House the Hon. Mr Seddon, Acting Premier, rose and said he had an important statement to make to the House on the question of the proposed Legislative Council appointments. His Excellency the Governor had informed Ministers that he had received a telegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonies in consequence of which he waived his objections to making the pro. posed appointments, and that he was now ready to grant the twelve appointments to the Council which Ministers had advised him to make. As yet Ministers are only aware of the substance of the cablegram received by Lord Glasgow, and a copy of the message will probably be laid on the table of the House by command.
