« [PER PRESB ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, September 21. A shocking accident occurred at the Otahuhu railway station to-night, which resulted in tbe instantaneous death of Mrs Catherine Rowe, wife of Mr Bowe, an employee 'of Mr John Hall, storekeeper, Otahuhu. Mrs Rowe had been in Auckland on business, and was return" ing home, Iv alighting in the dark she fell while the tram was moving, and was almost decapitated, and her anne ani legs were mangled. She leaves no family. Wellington, This Day. At the inquest on the body of Carl Moeller who lost his life in attempting to escape from the steamer Hauroto on Monday night, a verdict of " found drowned " was returned, and the jury ( exonerated tbe constable of any blame in the matter.
