Prendergast was voted to the chair. He stated that the meeting had been called to protest against the action of the Asharst ratepayers in endeavouring^ to" obtain the separation of ;No, 6 Ward < from ;fehe Manchester Boad District. In calling a meeting to consider such an important question as the separation of the ward, sufficient notice should have been given to 'all tHe ratepayers so that the question couldbe fairly, discussed.
