The protest of the Bulls Club against the decision of the Manawatu Rugby Union requiring the Awahuri-Bulls match to be played over again, owing to the latter having played a senior player from Hawera, has been upheld by the Appeal Committee of the New Zealand Union. It was held that there was no bye-law in the Manawatu Union preventing players from aa outside Union taking part in any matches, or requiring a residential qualification. In the football match, North v South ( Canterbury, played at Timaru on Thursday, the former won by 44 points to nil. The representatives of the Bush Union meet the Manawatu representatives at Palmerston North to-day.
