McLean's Young Australians
This company of juveniles performed here last Saturday and Monday evenings. The piece played on Saturday, Selhn and Zuleika — a burlesque, in two acts — contains several pretty songs and dances. Some of the girls have good voices,. Miss Bella Adair, Miss Lydia Breakwell, and Miis Violet Murray sustaining the principal parts. Some clever " gag," contain* ing local and political hits went down well. The latest London song " Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay " took immensely, and was encored several times. Last night the piece played was "Patchwork" an extravaganza without any plot, in which, however, several amusing scents and dances were enacted. The play was well performed by the Company, and met with plenty of applause from the audience, which though not large was an appreciative one. They were recalled no less than seven times in " Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay " and the political and local hits were greatly enjoyed. The company certainly deserved better support than they re* ceived.
