Manchester Road Board

A special meeting of the above Board to consider the tenders for the new bridge oyer the Oroua river and the question of McCrea's road was held yesterday. Pres ent— Messrs Lethbridge (chairman), Reeve, Pearce, Purkiss, Wheeler, and Booth, The chairman stated that the Board did not intend to make the Commissioners any offer for the railway bridge, On the proposition of Mr Purkus, seconded by Mr Reeves, it was resolved that the tender of Messrs Glendinning Bros, of Napier, for building the bridge at Aorangi for the sum of £1959 16s 8d be accepted by the Board. Proposed by Mr Beeve seconded by Mr Pearce that in the matter of McCrea's road, the Board leave it in the hands of Mes»rs Wheeler, Purkiss and the Chair man, to consult with the Board's Solicitor and decide what course should be taken. The meeting then adjourned.
