» — The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held to-day. Present.— Messrs Lethbridge, (chairman), Booth, Keere, Purkiss Wheeler and Pearce. The minutes of the l;ist meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From John Slipper, A. Fredsburg, B. Tremewan, and G-. H. Espinr, residents of Bunnythorpe, requesting the Board to form footpaths in front of their places of business, the applicants stipulating to pay half the cost of the same. From J. Paton and nine other residents in Ashurst, requesting ths Board to have Wyndhaui street formed and metalled from the Feilding road to Salisbury street. From Charles Crabb, requesting the Board to transfer Digby's rates to him, From Thomas Rowling, Hiwinui School District, requesting the Board to cut a drain in the water table in front of of the school as soon as possible. From the Chairman Awatere road Board, Blenheim, forwarding two copies of a petition re " Subsidy to Local Bodies " for approval and signature of the Manchester Road Board, said petition to be presented to the House at the earliest opportunity. From Joseph Kelsall, calling the Board's attention to the dangerous state of Old Napier Road near Mr Funnell's hill owing to the proximity of two gravel pits on each side of the road, which is only twelve feet wide at that spot. From the Secretary to the Treasury, requesting payment of the sum of £642 14s lid amount of interest due uuder " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886." From the Property Tax Department, f oi warding voucher for £74. amount of subsidy due to the Board for the year 1891-92 under "The Local Bodies Finance and Powers Act, 1885." From J. S. Freeman, requesting permission to erect a hitching post and verandah in front of his shop in Ashurst. From Lands and Survey Department re road on the south side of the railway line between the Oroua river and Bunnythorpe, and stating it is intended to issue a proclamation vesting the land in Manawatu Koad Board if the latter Board approves. From J, King, requesting the Board to remove the culyert facing his property in Ashurst. From Palmerston North Hospital Board, requesting payment of the sum of £108 14s 9d amount due from the Board. From Mr Henaghan of Stoney Creek, stating that his rates are too high, and he declines to pny the increased sum demanded. From Lands and Survey Department re closed roads, and requesting to be informed as to the names of adjoiuing owners. From the following persons, requesting to be put on the rate roll : — Michael Ryan for section part 6, X, and part 19, L; Thomas Shoithall, in place of Charles Cowan, for section 42, sub. H, situated in Apiti; D. J. Ridditord in place of Alexander Bell, for sections 11,14,15, 18, 68, 68, A, and 69, situated on the Junction and Stanway roads ; and C. Trass in place of J. Farrell for sections 39, 40, and situated in Ashurst. From T. Gardner, Ashurst, stating that section 43 in not his property. From Messrs Ooodbeh9re and Richmond, on behalf of their client (Mr Hugh Burrell) calhug the Board's attention to the fact that no reply has been received to tbeir client's application for compensation, owing to the encroachment of Forlong's road on Mr Burrell's property, and stating that logai proceedings will be taken to enforce a settlement, failing a satisfactory roply by Monday next.
