THE WINTERS OP 1891 and 1892.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I think that most persons must have noticed that the winter of 1891 was more seyere than that of the present year, and this, I think, is clearly shown by the following meteorological statistics for the months of June, July, and August in both years, and, further, that the rainfall during those months was nearly twice as much this year as it was last year : — 1891.
The minimum amount of cold registered was 21 degrees on the 13th July, 1891 ; this was colder, by three degrees, than I have eyer registered in Feilding. I am, &c, Saml. Goodbehere. Feilding, Ist September, 1892.
