TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I beg respectfully to draw the attention of the Manchester Road Board, and more particularly the notice of the Warden for the district, to the very ill* conditioned state of the Taonui road. In several places bad holes and deep ruts reader the passage of light vehicles a matter of some difficulty and danger. Therefore, I think, without wishing to be obtrusive, I may venture to suggest that if a man were put on for a day or two at once, the truth of the old proverb which sayeth that "a stitch in time saves nine," . would be again verified.
