» Stevens and Gorton report as follows of their Palmerston sale on Thursday last :— We had full entries of cattle, but only two small pens of sheep. The de» mand for cattle was brisk, and we quitted everything at prices in excess of vendors expectations. We quote as under— Fat bullocks, £6 12s 6d ; fat cows, £5 Is to £6 3d ; store bullocks, £4 Is to £4 8s ; forward cows. £4 lls ; cows in calf, £3 8s to £4 17s 6d : milkers. £5 7s 6d to £6 2s 6d ; superior half bred Ayrshire milch cows, £7 15s to £9 : yearling heifers, £2 15s ; 2-year do, £3 5s to £3 15s 6d ; mixed weaners, £1 17s to £2 3s ; calves; £1 ss. Forward wethers, 13s 3d ; mixed hoggets, 10s Id. Working bullocks, £7 to £10. A thoroughbred mare by Vasco di Gama, and the gelding Bain* bow, an exceptionally good lady's hack, were also offered, but failed to find ptir« chasers, and are now for private sale.
