Sale at Colyton * A clearing sale of stock, implements, etc., was held on Mr H. Derby's property at Colyton yesterday afternoon. Mr Abraham wielded the hammer on behalf of Messrs Stevens and Gorton, and there was a good attendance of buyers present. Two year old steers realized £3 Is ; yearlings, £1 16s ; one heifer in calf brought £4 ; 4 and 6 tooth ewes in lamb fetched 16s ; a small line of woolly hoggets, principally ewes, brought 9s 2d; a capital pen ofewehoggeta sold at Ils7d; a pen of 190 mixed hoggets in poor condition was withdrawn 7s only being bid. The four horse power thrasher and chaff cutter combined only fetched £10 and was practically given away. Horses and pigs were not wanted and no business WM done in these lines, but with these exceptions the sale was a satisfactory one, and Mr Derby is to be congratulated on its success, and the satisfactory prices realized. ..
The New Zealand Clothing Factory have just received between 200 and 300 patterns of tweed for special measurs cousistmg of Mosgiel, Kaiapoi, Oatnaru. Timnru, Roslyn, Ashburton, and Petone tweeds and worsteds, all orders entrusted to the manager will receive careful aud prompt attention.— Adtt.
