A Local Industry

♦ We haye recently been pfcown oyer Mr William Hoald's sash and door factory in Fergusson street, and had the pleasure of inspecting his machinery and plant. There are six different machines on the premises, namely a ripping bench, band saw, a lathe, grooving and boring, tenon, and mortice machines. Mr Heald informs us that he is importing a planing and moulding machine, and he will then be in a position to turn out doors, windows, skirtings, architraves and all kinds of moulding work which hitherto has been done elsewhere, aud he will then be prepared to supply a long felt want in Feilding. The factory will recommence operations in two or three months time, and while wo wish the proprietor every success in his undertaking, wo congratulate him on his enterprise.
