Unusual signs of volcanic activity are reported from Lake Taupo and Mounts Tongariro and Ngaruhoe. The crater on Tongariro Mountain had been emitting flames lately and a change has taken place in the aspect of the lips of the crater, one part of which has apparently fallen in.
