Meisrs Freewnn R. Jackson and Co. reports:— The saleat Waferly on Monday week passed off fairly well ; the yards were almost half fflll of useful stock. Old ewes are not much inquired for At Wanganui a full market of sheep came forward. Store wethers were at improved ralues. Cattle were brisk, and met a good sale, Pigs were m large numbers, but we succeeded in selling all at last sale's prices. Cattle-At Warerley : Cows. £3 10s to £4 12s 6d ; heifers, £2 16s ; steers, £3 4s; weaners, £2 At St Hill-street : Fat cows, £4 16a ; steers, £3 11s ; yearlings, £2 4s to £2 9s ; store cows, £3 5s ; milch cows, £3 2s 6d to £5 7s 6d. Sheep.— At Waverley : Wethers, 12s 9d and 13s 9d ; lambs, Bs. At Wanganui : Fat tight wethers, 14s 9d ; stores, 13s 3d to 13s 9d ; ewes, 8s and 10s 6d. We feel sure that the expenses of the trip would be far more than recouped, and there would be the additional advantage of choosing from the largest and most varied lot of bargains in the Province. If this is duly estimated a trip to the Te Aro House big sale will become a positive necessity. 'the annual stock-taking sale at the Bon Marche, Palmerston North, is now proceeding. The firm are determined to reduce their present stock at least £2000 previous to the annual balance, and prices have been made accordingly. Purchasers of Drapery and Clothing at this establishment have the benefit of a £6000 stock to select from — Aj>vt. W« would earnestly advise all country settlers to make sure of this opportunity and try, if possible, to pay a visit to the Empire City during the continuance of this big sale at Te Aro House, Weitington.
