Ashurst Notes
(FROM our OWN CORRESPONDENT, j The. Salisbury Small Farm Association Block will be out of the hands of the surveyors in two or three days' time. The drawing will then take place almost immediately, that is, if all the declaration forms haye been returned to the Commissioner at Wellington. The form of declaration • l'equired to be signed by any who may wish to transfer is to be returned to the secretary at Ashurst, who will then call a meeting of the committee in accordance with the requirements of clause 8 of the Small Farm Regulations. It is requested that those gentlemen who took charge of the petitions to he signed by members of the S.F.A. to strengthen the hands of Mr Wilson, M.H.R., in his efforts to obtain better terms for the small farmers, will return them to the secretary at Ashurst. We had the phonograph here this week. There has been a request handed to our warden that Wyndham street be formed and metalled. It will in its turn. There has been a great improvement in the appearance of the town during the last few months, simply by making and metalling of streets. Our main street, also, looks very neat and clean ; perhaps the almost continuous rain may have something to do with it.
