St. Petersburg, Julj 7. The port of Croustadt has been closed to the merchant navy. Cholera is raging at Kharitsin, on the Volsjn.. Numerous deaths are reported at Saratov, Tiflis and Baku. Washington, July 7. A body of 300 police tried to protect the non-Unionists at Pittsburg, but the strikers opened fire on them with revolvers. The strikers procured cannon with which fire was opened on the police, who were ultimately obliged to surrender and were then allowed to depart. Thirtyeight men were killed, but the loss was mostly on the side of the strikers, only a few policemen being includpd.
