[from our own correspondent. I Colyton now boasts a Glee Club and a theatrical club, formed for the purpose of clearing off the debt that still exists on the Hall. If rumour is correct they are already practising for a sort of social which is to be held in a week or two. Mr Charles Cowan, one of our earliest settlers here has just sold his property adjoining the Spur and Taonui roads to Mr Thomas Shortall, also of Spur road. Election matters still continue to exist a good deal of interest about the district, but judging from the opinions generally expressed Mr Bruce is far and away the favourite.
