» .... Members of the Manchester Rifles are reminded that the parade will be held at seven o'clock this evening. The time is fast approaching for the Manchester Rifles to move in the direction of erecting a suitable drillhall for themselves. The new drill-hall at New Plymouth was opened on Saturday afternoon by Colonel Stapp, who handed over to the Volunteers the colors presented to the Militia and Volunteers by Lady Warre, wife of General Sir H. Warre in 1861, which will be hung over the memorial tablet with the names of those killed in the early war with the Maoris at Taranaki.
