Fulton, oi the City Guards, Dunedin, who recently passed an examination entitling him to one of the commissions in the Imperial forces open to the colony, has received orders to join the 93rd,Regi T meut on the Bengal station. " : The Manchester Rifles will parade on Thursday nest at seven p.m. instead of 7.30. At a special parade of the Volunteers of the Auckland Garrison on Thursday night, the Hon Mr Seddon presented the championship medal to Sergeant Doughty, winner of the Rifle Championship. He also presented some local prizes. . Mr Seddon said he did not agree . with the suggestion that there should be a partially-paid Volunteer force da in other colonies, and he did not think the taxpayers would agree with it. As the Colony was dependent so much on its Volunteers, the Government would do all they could to encourage .ihem. t ■■ - . , .
